Replacement dock levellers supplied and installed for client in Lothian

We were approached by a new client for Armo – NHS Lothian, who came to us as they were looking to replace two dock levellers at St Johns Hospital in Livingston. We attended site to survey and followed this up with a quote to replace the dock levellers and buffers. The order was then placed with us.

The ARSL Armo Swing Lip Dock Levellers were manufactured in a size of 2020mm width x 2775mm length and a minimum pit depth of 590mm. The operating parameters were 360mm above dock and 300m below dock. The lip length was 400mm, complete with a 5° curvature for when loading above dock with a 6 tonne loading capacity in accordance with BS EN 1398.

We also supplied and installed Dock Buffers 250mm x 450mm x 100mm mounted onto a steel backing plate.

Darrell Hopwood, Managing Director, said of this project “We went for non-standard manufacture to suit the existing imperial pit dimension on this project, so we had to place an order directly on the factory rather than use standard sized levellers from stock”
