Our client is a 1.5 billion dollar privately owned food ingredient company. With 29 manufacturing facilities around the world. They have standardized manufacturing processes so that products made at one facility mirrors that made at another. This approach allows them to move production seamlessly from one plant to another and facilitates orders delivery should any unforeseen event cause an interruption at one of their locations.
On this occasion our specialist installation team replaced the existing dock shelters with Armo retractable Dock Shelters and Loading Dock Buffers, please see full details below:
The ARMO Model ARSR Retractable Dock Shelters are a perfect way of protecting goods and employees from the elements. They keep a temperature-controlled facility at the correct temperature, while the doors are open during the necessary loading and unloading operations.
They cater for a mixed vehicle fleet with curtains that extend in from the sides and head, allowing a vehicle to push through and keep the worst of the elements at bay. The curtains are designed to flex but maintain contact with the rear of the vehicle to maintain the seal opening, and protection of the goods are the main criteria. They also have these additional benefits:
- Crash resistant frame.
- Reversing aid parking guides.
- Heavy-duty material.
- Effective sealing for a wide variety of vehicles.
- Designed for fast, easy installation.
Finally, there is the bonus of reducing energy costs by reducing the loss of expensively generated warm or cooled air.
The Heavy Duty Dock Buffers are energy absorbing Polyethylene low friction dock bumpers provided in yellow. They are fixed through 50 mm rubber packer using M24 bolts onto a primed and pained 15 mm thick steel backing plate that is both welded and bolted to the dock face. The front surface of the buffer is smooth, and the polyethylene buffer is backed with a rubber shock absorbing fillet.
