Lifting Table refurbished and re-installed

You may recall a recent blog post about a lifting table which was very well used and in need of major repair and refurbishment. After quoting the owners of the lift, Armo were instructed to remove the lift, take it back to our head office in Telford, Shropshire and proceed with the work quoted. The lift had been left to get into this condition due to lack of servicing and a blocked drain in the pit which had led to the lift being sat in water and when this was picked up by the insurance company it was immediately condemned.

Having carried out an inspection on the lift, James Reynolds, Service Manager, had quoted for a number of significant issues to be fixed. This included repairing the lower rollers which had seized and rubbed on the frame, causing damage to the frame, fixings missing, the three top ram pins had seized as well as leaking oil and the lip hinges were failing but the existing pump unit is only of sufficient size for lifting 2000KG and the client requires this to be increased to 5000KG.

Having been in the warehouse for 6 weeks, Barry and Nigel have been working hard on getting the lift into top condition. We also invited an outside company to come and test the new lifting weight and issue a certificate to verify. Once all complete, two engineers spent 2 days on site re-installing the lift. On this occasion we were able to save the client thousands by repairing rather than replacing.
