Loading Bay supplied and installed for Accrington site

Armo won a contract for a site in Accrington, to supply and install two complete loading bay packages consisting of dock levellers, dock shelters, wheel guides and dock lights. We won this contract via a construction partner.

Our construction partner had been awarded a new build project and asked us to provide a quote for completing the loading bay element. The quote was provided in early January 2015 detailing standard sized swing lip dock levellers, made to order retractable dock shelters, basic specification wheel guides and dock loading lights. An order arrived later that month.

The Armo electro/hydraulic swing lip dock leveller model ARSL is at the heart of our product range and a popular choice for loading bays as they are designed to be robust and reliable. The swing lip is the more commonly used format in general warehousing and is supplied in standard capacities of 6000KG and 9000KG. For this particular job the load capacity was 6 tonne strictly in accordance with the British standard for dock levellers BS EN 1398. The lip was 400mm in length and complete with a 5° curvature for when loading above dock.

The retractable dock shelter is also a popular product and most commonly used on this type of construction project. This is due to the shelter being able to cater for a mixed fleet of vehicles with curtains extending from the sides and head. This allows the vehicle to push through and keep the elements at bay, and therefore is ideal for temperature controlled facilities.

This job was a regular installation job for us and we were able to complete on site within 5 days.”
