Not all warehouses provide the required nominal 1200mm height difference in level between the inside finish floor level and the external yard level to facilitate a traditional loading bay, when faced with this dilemma the model ARMD Modular Dock leveller system provides a very cost effective answer that eliminates the need for making major alterations and undertaking extensive civil works.
Typical Situations for requirements:
The standard model ARMD Modular Dock is an all steel constructed unit normally set at 1200 or 1300mm off finish floor level, with a durbar chequer plate steel surface supported by hot rolled steel sections designed to accommodate the required load capacity. Incorporated within the platform surface is either the Armo Swing Lip model ARSL or Telescopic Lip model ARTL dock levellers complete with model ARDB dock buffers fitted on either side of the dock levellers, the buffer support steelwork is normally braced back to the floor slab via diagonal thrust beams that enable the modular dock to absorb the loads imposed by a reversing trailer. The unit is manufactured complete with robust support legs complete with base plates for bolting the system down to a suitable concrete base, alternatively if the base is not substantial enough concrete pads can be cast into the base positioned to suit the support legs.
To prevent any fall off hazard from the modular dock, 1100mm high hand railing complete with central knee bar and bottom kick plate are traditionally fitted to all exposed sides, interlocked gates can also be positioned over the dock leveller and at the pallet pick off access point. An optional ramp is also available to enable the material mover (i.e. Forklift, hand pallet truck, PPT etc) to move directly on or off the modular dock to maximise product flow. For safe pedestrian access to the modular dock an access staircase complete with access gate is normally provided and sited at an appropriate position.
