We were approached back in November 2015, by an existing client, Parkway Construction. They had a requirement for a Modular Dock with Loading Ramp for a project in Bentley Bridge, Wednesfield and we were able to quote for the project, including installation.
The ARSL Swing Lip Dock Leveller was supplied complete within base frame in an overall width of 3500mm, length of 2450mm and a height of 1200mm. The operating parameters of the dock leveller were 300mm both above and below dock. The dock leveller came with a one piece swing lip, complete with a 5° curvature for when loading above dock.
The Raised Steel Dock supplied was served by a 12000mm long ramp and was to be able to undertake a moving load (Forklift, operator & load) of up to 6000kg. We also supplied and installed Wheel Alignment Guides for the project, to allow the reversing vehicles to slot between the guides, ensuring that the vehicles dock safely and centrally onto the loading bay.
Darrell Hopwood, Managing Director said: “This particular site was a level access scenario so we put forward a loading bay proposal that provided a steel raised dock that would then enable a traditional dock leveller to take up the required trailer bed height difference”.
Dock Levellers are the safest and most convenient way to transport goods from warehouse to trailer bed because the dock leveller takes up the height difference and bridges the potentially dangerous gap.
