Our client had an extension built on to their existing warehouse with 2 new loading bays which required 2no Dock Levellers, 2no Dock Shelters, Buffers to suit, 2no pairs of wheel guides, LED Traffic lights and Loading Bay Dock lights.

The company was founded in 1972 and have over 40 years experience for which they are now recognised to be one of the UK's largest and most experienced importers and wholesalers of screws, fixings, fasteners, nails and power tool accessories.

After site visits and quotation sent based on the customers requirements, the order was placed at the start of February 2017 with work commencing early March.

Model ARSL Swing Lip Dock Leveller

Armo Supplied and installed 2no Model ARSL Swing Lip Dock Levellers both at a width 0f 2000mm, length at 3400mm and a nominal pit depth of 610mm. The operating Parameters were 300mm Above Dock and 300mm Below Dock. The lip of the leveller is one piece complete with a 5° curvature to assist with loading above dock height with a length of 400mm. Both Dock Levellers have a strict single axle load capacity of 6 tonne which is in accordance with the British standard for dock levellers BS EN 1398.

Armo completed the installation of the 2 levellers by incorporating 2no rubber buffers on each leveller with a size of 450 x 250 x 100mm. Each buffer is mounted on a 15mm steel backing plate.

Model ARSR Retractable Dock Shelter

The Dock shelters that Armo supplied had a width of 3400mm, overall height of 3600mm, a projection of 600mm, front curtain width at 700mm and a head curtain that had a length of 1200mm.

Armo supply and install heavy-duty retractable dock shelters that are suitable to accommodate vehicles of varying heights whilst at the same time providing an effective seal.

Model ARTR LED Traffic Light

Armo were pleased to install our traffic light system to ensure that our dock levellers were as safe as they could be for the customers’ employees. A Red over green LED Traffic Light, provided in a fully sealed unit complete with sun visors is installed to the outside of the loading bay in a position that the driver of the vehicle can clearly see to ensure they know when it is safe to pull off from the loading bay.

Nominally 140mm wide x 268mm long x 50mm deep with 24 diodes per light.

 Model ARDL Dock Loading Light

2 Dock loading lights were supplied and installed on the inside of the loading bay door which provides light into every corner of a docked trailer which improves visibility and helps prevent accidents occurring. The light is a 70W system, which can be interlocked with the door so that when the door opens, the light will turn on and when the door closes, the light switches off. An independent switch can also be included.

Model ARBD Wheel Alignment Guides

2 pairs of wheel alignment guides were fixed into place centrally to the loading bay, 2000mm from the dock face. The guides are manufactured with soft radius bends and are hot dipped galvanised to BS 729. They can also be powder coated to the colour preference of the customer. The reversing vehicle, which is intended to dock onto the loading bay, aims to slot the trailer between the guides ensuring the trailer dock safely and centrally onto the loading bay.
