A current client of Armo got in touch with us in May of this year. Our client are a uniquely integrated communications agency and production house, based in Kidderminster.
Their requirement was for two new Armo Fire Roller Shutter Doors. The first was supplied in an opening width of 3650mm, opening height of 4200mm and with headroom of 450mm. The second was an opening width of 3650mm, opening height of 2550mm and with headroom of 400mm. Each one has a 4 hour fire rating.
Fire rated roller shutter doors are usually a part of an overall fire and smoke control system designed to save lives and to limit damage to particular areas and are ideal for any application where the prevention of fire spreading is of paramount importance.
Fire rated roller shutter doors are constructed from heavier duty materials than a standard roller shutter, has many more fixings for the structure and has slotted holes in all components to allow for expansion should the door catch fire.
The Managing Director of Armo, Darrell Hopwood had this to say: “Our client opted for high specification shutters that close on controlled powered descent, Inclusive of battery backup and audio/ visual alarm to indicate the doors are about to self-close along with a repeater panels”
