Armo (UK) upgraded Four Loading Bays, with Armo Swing Lip Dock Levellers and Buffers for a Leading IT Distributor in Birmingham

Our client is a leading distributor of IT solutions, including infrastructure, networking, and electronic security solutions.

Following a site survey, by one of Armo’s Project Managers. We recommended and designed 4no. Loading bays utilising Armo Swing lip dock levellers, with support frames and rubber buffers with backing plates, to achieve an effective and safe loading bay solution, which not only speeds up loading and unloading, but keeps the employee safe from potential health and safety risks.

Armo Swing Lip Dock Levellers Model ARSL

Armo dock levellers are robust in design and construction; the platforms are made from 6/8 mm tear plate steel, supported by a minimum of 8 longitudinal beams to strengthen the deck but still allowing it to twist through its length to cater for vehicles that are out of level. The ARSL is in full compliance with BS EN 1398.

Operation

The push button is held depressed, whereupon the platform will rise to the top of its range and the lip will swing out under control (the operator can constantly monitor the position of the platform and lip while keeping the button depressed). With the lip extended, the button is released and the platform and lip will lower until the vehicle body is sensed, upon which the platform will follow fluctuation in height during loading/unloading. To park the dock leveller, the button is held depressed, causing the leveller to rise and retract the lip. At this point, releasing the button will allow the leveller to “park” and the leveller will return to its parked position.

Armo also installed Armo Dock Buffers and Backing Plates and Fixings. Armo buffers are manufactured from heavy duty solid rubber, fixed to a primed and painted solid steel backing plate using M24 fixings, the plate in turn is bolted back to the dock.
