We are delighted to be working with one of the world’s leading provider of cold storage and logistics services to the food industry. The facility we are working on is a purpose-built 35-acre site and offers 197,000 pallet spaces of multi-temperature storage. Established in 1941, they are now classed as a world leader in their field.
On this occasion, we have upgraded one of their loading bays with an Pit Mounted Swing lip Dock Leveller, manufactured and installed by Armo (UK).
Armo Swing Lip Dock Leveller Model ARSL
They are robust in design and construction; the platforms are made from 6/8 mm tear plate steel, supported by a minimum of 8 longitudinal beams to strengthen the deck but still allowing it to twist through its length to cater for vehicles that are out of level. The ARSL is in full compliance with BS EN 1398.
Operation - The push button is held depressed, whereupon the platform will rise to the top of its range and the lip will swing out under control (the operator can constantly monitor the position of the platform and lip while keeping the button depressed). With the lip extended the button is released and the platform and lip will lower until the vehicle body is sensed, upon which the platform will follow fluctuation in height during loading/unloading. To park the dock leveller the button is held depressed, causing the leveller to rise and retract the lip. At this point releasing the button will allow the leveller to “park” and the leveller will return to its parked position.
The ARSL is in full compliance with BS EN 1398.
