One of the UK’s leading high street retailers, contacted Armo (UK) after working with us on previous projects as they knew our capabilities in terms of both best technical advice, and speed of manufacture. On this occasion Iceland needed a quick turnaround for a goods lift for their Portsmouth store.
David Bruneau, Armo (UK)’s Operation’s Director, conducted a site visit to survey the existing lift and was able to advise our client on the most suitable solution as the existing lift was no longer suitable due to the bearings collapsing, resulting in the lift being no longer fit for purpose.
We quoted for the Armo Goods Lift Lifting Table (model ARGL) as this product can be made to spec and also quick to manufacture. The quote also included a supply of suitable mesh, using the existing mesh where possible, to act as fall off protection along with a bespoke hinged gate and a push button station.
We arranged to remove and dispose of the existing lift and arrange for all associated plant hire to enable our directly employed engineers to compete the job with ease.
On this occasion the goods lift was manufactured to specific client requirements for a width of 1500mm, length of 2000mm, depth 300mm and the lift stroke limited to 690mm to suit the existing pit. The load capacity for this scissor lifting table was 2000kg.
Darrell Hopwood, Armo (UK)’s Managing Director, said: “This was a fantastic project for Armo (UK) because we were able to meet all the client’s needs in terms of providing a fast turnaround due to manufacturing the product ourselves. We completed the installation, hand-over and the new lift was fully operational in 3 weeks from receiving the client’s instruction”
