The largest sports retailer/manufacturer turn to Armo (UK) to provide a bespoke solution to their retail loading bays. The use of a scissor lift as a ‘vehicle loading’ tool has many benefits. It can act as dock leveller to load standard vehicles and can be used to load small vans. The ARVL Vehicle Loading Lift can even transport goods from the dock down to yard level. Armo lifting tables are simple and robust in design and construction, from the rolled steel angle base frame through to the solid steel plate arms right through to the structured platform, the lift is constructed to last.

This relieves the pressure on retail to increase sales floor space at the cost of reducing stock-holding areas and increased frequency of delivery vehicles to our shops. Some of these vehicles come directly from the supplier making life even more difficult for staff to offload and move into cramped buffer stock areas before the next delivery arrives. Where it is not possible to have a raised dock, an Armo Vehicle Loading Lift can increase the speed and safety of unloading vehicles and allow more time for stock organisation.

Safety is paramount to Armo and all Lift are fully compliant with BS EN 1570 and incorporate the following safety features.

• Chainmesh guards under exposed sides

• Low voltage dead-man controls

ARTL LED Traffic Lights, the traffic lights were red over green LED lights, provided in fully sealed black moulded units, complete with small sun visors.   These are interlocked to the loading bay, so the light shows green when the door is closed and red whenever the door is open.

ARBD Wheel Alignment Guides, they are manufactured with soft radius bends and are supplied for installing centrally to the loading bay, circa 2000mm from the dock face. The reversing vehicle slots between the guides ensuring that the vehicle docks safely and centrally onto the loading bay.

In addition, we fitted an ARRS Roller Shutter Door, to one short side of the lift, underneath the onboard gates, this provides a degree of ingress protection when the lift is in the raised position.

The ARRS Roller Shutters Doors are made by interlocking steel laths to form a door curtain; the curtain is rolled around a circular drum which is usually driven by a directly coupled electric operator. With a galvanised finish to provides a degree of corrosion protection.
