On this occasion we have upgraded a loading bay utilising Armo Dock Shelters and Armo Dock Levellers.

Armo Dock shelters give all round protection and protect the goods to be loaded from adverse weather conditions, save energy costs and prevent drafts that could result in staff shortage due to illness. ARMO Model ARSR Retractable Dock Shelters are made from good quality materials – in fact the front curtain material started life as abrasion resistant conveyor belting! The retractable frame is made from galvanised steel to make sure it lasts the course when exposed to the elements and just in case the shelter gets accidentally hit the arms are designed to retract out of harm’s way by moving back and up.

This also gives the loading bay access to double deck trailers and keeps expensively generated air in, thus saving on energy, while giving the employees a better-quality environment to work in.

In addition to the Retractable Dock shelter, we also supplied and installed Armo Dock Buffers and Backing Plates and Fixings. Armo buffers are manufactured from heavy duty solid rubber, fixed to a primed and painted solid steel backing plate using M24 fixings, the plate in turn is bolted back to the dock

Armo Swing Lip Dock Leveller Model ARSL

They are robust in design and construction; the platforms are made from 6/8 mm tear plate steel, supported by a minimum of 8 longitudinal beams to strengthen the deck but still allowing it to twist through its length to cater for vehicles that are out of level.

Operation – The push button is held depressed, whereupon the platform will rise to the top of its range and the lip will swing out under control (the operator can constantly monitor the position of the platform and lip while keeping the button depressed). With the lip extended the button is released and the platform and lip will lower until the vehicle body is sensed, upon which the platform will follow fluctuation in height during loading/unloading. To park the dock leveller the button is held depressed, causing the leveller to rise and retract the lip. At this point releasing the button will allow the leveller to “park” and the leveller will return to its parked position.

The ARSL is in full compliance with BS EN 1398.
