Our Client is a plant and flower distribution company with over 25 year’s experience. Ensure their clients get their products on time and in a perfect condition is vital to the success of their business, as distribution is their business.

The clients required a loading bay with an optima seal, supporting a wide range of vehicle sizes. The Inflatable dock shelter is the perfect solution for this type of loading bay, also giving the added advantage of low air movement, thus saving energy as an extra bonus.

The Loading Bay was constructed using the following Armo products:

Pouring Tray

The pouring trays are manufactured with a suspended frame design with a reversed angle to allow the dock leveller to sit comfortably within the opening of the pouring tray. The trays are fixed down to a solid base and a dry concrete mix is packed around the tray ready for the final concrete pour to complete the pit.

Armo Swing Lip Dock Leveller model ARSL

The swing lip dock Leveller gives the client a robust design and construction. The platforms are made from 6/8 mm tear plate steel, supported by a minimum of 8 longitudinal beams to strengthen the deck but still allowing it to twist through its length to cater for vehicles that are out of level with the Loading Bay.

Armo Inflatable Dock Shelter model ARIS

The ARIS inflatable dock shelter is growing in popularity as more comprehensive control of vehicles and equipment becomes available. The frame size is like that of a retractable shelter, but the narrow side curtains conceal deflated polyurethane inflatable cushions; the head is similar.

The use of inflatable seals works very simply; the vehicle arrives at the dock usually with an external traffic light showing green, when the warehouse operative is alerted to the presence of the vehicle. Once the fan is energised the cushions fill with high volume, low pressure air and maintain steady contact on the sides and roof of the vehicle providing a good tight seal, reducing the ingress of the elements and keeping in expensively generated warm or cooled air.

ARTR LED Traffic Lights

The traffic lights were red over green LED lights, provided in fully sealed black moulded units, complete with small sun visors. These are interlocked to the loading bay, so the light shows green when the door is closed and red whenever the door is open.

ARBD Wheel Alignment Guides

The wheel guides are manufactured with soft radius bends and are supplied for installing centrally to the loading bay, circa 2000mm from the dock face. The reversing vehicle slots between the guides ensuring that the vehicle docks safely and centrally onto the loading bay.

In addition, we also installed 3 Steel fire Escape doors and 2 larger Insulated Sectional doors, detailed below:

AROD Insulated Sectional Overhead Door

The Insulated Sectional Overhead Door tracks are our galvanised steel ‘J’ type, which are designed to give free and easy running for bearing rollers. These tracks are mounted onto a heavy-duty galvanised jamb angle. The perimeter of the doors is fully sealed, as well as the intermediate panel joints, providing most effective weather seal to the door. The door panels construction is manufactured using 0.5mm thick hot dipped coated steel on either face, these sheets are bonded together using CFC free foam with a destiny of 40kg/m² K.

Steel Fire Escape Doors

This is steel security personnel emergency door. This includes external locking devise and internal panic furniture. They are robust in design and frame infilled in resin impregnated honeycomb and power coated in Blue.
