After our Project Manager Tim Smith visited the Bakkavor site in Spalding, Lincolnshire, Armo was able to send a quote based on the customers requirements with work commencing early March.

Dock Leveller Pouring Tray

Armo supplied a 3 sided steel tray designed to suit our quoted Dock Leveller. The pouring tray was galvanised complete with strengthen ribs, cast-in tangs and strengthening cross bars. Once the tray has been positioned and fixed down, the duct pipe is installed to match the tray’s duct exit point and a dry mix is then packed around the unit before the concrete is then poured. Once the Concrete is set the pouring tray is then ready to accept the Dock Leveller to then complete the mechanical installation

Model ARSL Swing Lip Dock Leveller

Armo Supplied and installed 1no Model ARSL Galvanised Swing Lip Dock Leveller at a width of 2200mm, length at 2500mm and a minimum pit depth of 610mm. The operating parameters were 360mm above dock and 300mm below dock. The lip of the leveller is one piece complete with a 5° curvature to assist with loading above dock height with a length of 400mm. The Dock Leveller had strict single axle load capacity of 6 tonne which is in accordance with the British standard for dock levellers BS EN 1398. A suspended frame design was also incorporated to suit our pouring tray.

Armo completed the installation of the Dock Leveller by including 2no rubber buffers at a size of 250mm x 450mm x 100mm. Each buffer is mounted on a 15mm steel backing plate that is welded and bolted to the dock face.

Model AROD Insulated Sectional Overhead Door

The Door we supplied and installed for Bakkavor had a 2400mm opening width, 2400mm opening height and a headroom of 500mm. The door tracks are galvanised steel ‘J’ type fixed vertically, designed to give free and easy running for bearing rollers, these tracks are mounted onto a heavy-duty galvanised jamb angle. Door Panels are manufactured using 0.5mm thick hot dipped zinc coated steel on either face, and bonded together using CFC free foam. The door panel finish is dependent on the customer’s preference; in the case Bakkavor chose to have the panels finish in White internally and externally. The perimeters of the doors are fully sealed, as well as the intermediate panel joints, providing most effective weather seal to the doors.

Model ARCS Cushion Seal

The ARCS Cushion Seal was supplied with an opening width of 2400mm, 2400mm opening height, the overall width was 3000mm, overall height 2700mm and a projection of 300mm. The seals also have yellow guides incorporated within the face of the side seal to assist the reversing vehicle.

Model ARDB Wheel Alignment Guides

1 pair of wheel alignment guides were fixed into place centrally to the loading bay, 2000mm from the dock face. The guides are manufactured with soft radius bends and are hot dipped galvanised to BS 729. They can also be powder coated to the colour preference of the customer. The reversing vehicle, which is intended to dock onto the loading bay, aims to slot the trailer between the guides ensuring the trailer dock safely and centrally onto the loading bay.
