New Loading Bay equipment supplied and installed for customer in Leigh

A new customer to Armo, TMT Contractors, came to us for a quotation as they had a client Volex in Leigh with a requirement for some new loading bay equipment.  We visited the site and following this were able to quote for the equipment needed.

They had a need for 3 new model ARSL Armo Swing Lip Dock Levellers. The sizes of these were 2000mm width x 2500mm length, with a minimum pit depth of 610mm.  The operating parameters were 300mm both above and below dock. The lip length was 400mm, complete with a 5° curvature for when loading above dock with a 6 tonne loading capacity in accordance with BS EN 1398.

We also supplied and installed 3 new doors for the loading bays, our AROD Insulated Sectional Overhead Doors. These were supplied in a size of 2800mm opening width, 3000mm opening height and headroom of 500mm.

We also supplied and installed a further 4 level access doors, again these were our AROD Insulated Sectional Overhead Doors. These were supplied in a size of 4000mm opening width, 4500mm opening height and headroom of 500mm.

The door tracks are all our galvanised steel ‘J’ type, which are designed to give free and easy running for bearing rollers. These tracks are mounted onto a heavy-duty galvanised jamb angle.  The perimeter of the doors are fully sealed, as well as the intermediate panel joints, providing most effective weather seal to the doors.

We also supplied two pairs of ARBD Wheel Alignment Guides. These guides are manufactured with soft radius bends and are supplied for installing centrally to the loading bay. The reversing vehicle slots between the guides, ensuring the vehicle docks safely and centrally onto the loading bay.

Lastly, we supplied 3 sets of ARTR LED Traffic Lights which are interlocked to the door, so that the light shows green when the door is closed and red when open.

The Managing Director of Armo, Darrell Hopwood had this to say “We needed to work closely with the builder on the design element of this project, as it was new loading bay products into an existing building with the requirement for construction  of the pits for the dock levellers and steel sub-frames for the doors, works onsite was completed in around 5 weeks from order”
