Armo supply and install Dock Leveller in support frame for Burnley manufacturer

Armo won a contract for Rectella, a manufacturer of curtains and bedding products based in Burnley, Lancashire to manufacture and install an electro/hydraulic Swing Lip Dock Leveller mounted in a support frame. A new dock leveller was required as the existing very old mechanical unit was no longer fit for purpose.

An order was placed for the standard sized swing lip dock leveller 2500mm x 2000mm with a lip of 400mm with an addition of a support frame complete with hand railing. The hand railing was required to be fully sheeted 1100mm high hand railing fitted to both sides of the dock leveller and welded to the support frame. The load capacity for this dock leveller needed to be 6 tonne single axle load strictly in accordance with the BS EN 1398.

The project also incorporated the installation of Armo Dock Buffers model ARDB. Armo buffers are manufactured from heavy duty solid rubber, normally fixed to a primed and painted solid steel backing plate using M24 fixings, the plate in turn is bolted back to the dock face and additionally welded to the dock leveller frame to provide a long lasting solid fixing.

The project took one day on site to complete.
